As a person who grew up listening to R&B and hip hop for most of my adult life, I could tell when someone’s time is up in the spotlight. As a former fan of Kanye West, I was surprised to see that he was dropping yet another album. The good-ole days of “Through The Wire” and “Gold Digger” are gone for this Chicago native. In a recent MTV article by Charles Holmes, the washed-up rapper announces via social media, that he is dropping two new albums in June 2018. See link to the MTV article below:
I would like to share my thoughts on Kanye West and the evolution of his downfall.
It all started with the Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards a few years ago. As you may recall, Mr. West interrupted Taylor Swift and shouted his opinion about one of Beyoncé’s videos being one of the best videos of all time. This action showed a lack of class for the hip hop star. This one incident started Kanye’s downfall.
One cannot notice that everyone who associates themselves with the Kardashians turns out to be a bust. Just look at all the sports stars who got with a Kardashian and see if they still have productive careers in their respective sport. Kanye and these other sports stars seem to get the “Kardashian Curse” which cripples their careers. Perhaps, the money is too good and they don’t need their careers anymore.
As you can see, Kanye has no more place in the hip hop world. It is time for the former hip hop megastar to hang up his rapping shoes and continue his career as a Kardashian associate. He is no longer relevant in the music industry.
Yeezus is back in the house. Fans of rapper Kanye West received exciting news over the weekend when he tweeted that two albums are on the way, with June release dates. One of the albums will feature fellow rapper Kid Cudi. West revealed that they have formed a duo called “Kid Sees Ghost.”
It seems that the “Kid Sees Ghost” concept has been in the works for awhile: West trademarked the name this past November, with the intent to appear on multiple platforms including TV.
He appears to have his finger on the pulse of other rap releases as well. West tweeted that both Pusha T and Teyana Taylor will come out with new albums this summer.
Cudi and West have had a tumultuous relationship for many years, despite frequent collaborations. West appeared on Cudi’s first two albums, while Cudi has worked on every single West album since 2008’s “808s and Heartbreak.” However, the two have also bickered over Twitter, with Cudi complaining that West doesn’t care about him. West fired back that he is the source of Cudi’s success.
The two seem to have mended things in recent years, with West referring to Cudi as his “brother.” After that, West and Cudi have performed onstage together many times. Cudi’s most recent solo album was “Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’,” which was released in 2016.
West stayed out of the spotlight after 2016’s “The Life of Pablo,” but it appears that he’s back in the creative spirit. In addition to the upcoming albums, West says that he is also working on a book about philosophy. The book is tentatively titled “Break the Simulation,” and may also include photography.
Many fans of music, art, and fashion consider Kanye West to be somewhat of a maniacal genius. Despite some outlandish media stunts, when it comes to his craft, Mr. West rarely disappoints. Those that know and appreciate him as an artist were excited when they heard that Kanye West was holed up somewhere in nowheresville Wyoming, because they knew this must mean an album was coming. Leading industry influencers have even made mentions of missing Ye’s antics.
Kanye West satisfied the ever-so observant public with an announcement of not one, but two albums being released in the summer of 2018, June 1st and 8th consecutively. Less cryptic than other recent new music announcements, (ahem, we’re looking at you Rihanna) Yeezy tweeted the announcement in the most clear, straightforward way possible, even stating “my album is 7 songs”.
Kid Cudi, another tortured artist, is said by West himself to be teaming up with him on the second album. “Me and Cudi album … it’s called Kids See Ghost. That’s the name of our group”. Are Kanye West and Kid Cudi about to be the next rockstar duo power couple? Only time will tell, however, we have no reason to doubt the collaboration between the two rap giants is real. Earlier this year, Kanye West was seen on social media looking quite stoic and awkward in a video with Dame Dash, who is known as the former mogul of notable dynasty Roc-A-Fella Records. If Damon Dash is backing Kanye West on his new projects and Kid Cudi is with him in the studio in a joined comeback effort, this could be shaping up to be quite the interesting summer for music.
Well, it looks like Kim Kardashian has had enough! The reality television star and her husband, rapper Kanye West, have been at the center of Hollywood’s latest scandal surrounding West’s recent hit song, Famous. The song includes controversial lyrics referring to the pop singer Taylor Swift as West raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x. Why? I made that b**ch famous.” After the song’s release, Taylor Swift’s representatives immediately dubbed the lyric as “misogynistic.” expressing that Swift never approved of the lyrics. Swift went on to condemn the song at the 2016 Grammy Awards during her “Album of the Year” acceptance speech.
The Kimye camp, however, told a different side of the story. West took to twitter to explain things from his point of view, stating, “I called Taylor and had a hour-long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.” Swift and her reps vehemently denied this claim, telling Entertainment Weekly, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account.”
In efforts to defend her husband, Kim Kardashian released video segments of the phone conversation between West and Swift on the night of July 17, sending social media users into a frenzy. The video shows Kanye reading the controversial lyrics to Swift, and Swift referring to the lyric as a compliment. A full transcript of the conversation can be viewed here.
Kanye West is one of the most famous people in the world, and his marriage to Kim Kardashian has rose his fame to an even greater level. However, Kanye West is known for his angry and serious demeanor as well. Kanye isn’t scaring anyone though commented Jaime Garcia Dias, but he continues to put up his act for the cameras.
Kanye West was spotted breaking his character when he appeared in the audience of the NBA finals. Kanye West was sitting next to Scottie Pippen, and it appeared that he was having the time of his life. Kanye West actually smiled for a split second, but then he returned his face to its sad and miserable look. However, Kanye West put the smile away when he realized that a camera was recording him.
Many people do not understand why Kanye West puts on this fake act, and we all wish he would stop. Kanye was once beloved by the people, and his serious act has earned much hate from his once gracious fans. Kanye West need to relax and smile more, even if the cameras catch it. The new year is but a few days old, and Kanye West has already made headlines for himself. The controversial artist just released a new song, titled “Only One,” with Paul McCartney, but that’s not all; he is claiming his late mother, Dr. Donda West, actually spoke through him on the track.
According to West’s representatives, the collaborative track between Yeezy and former Beatles’ bassist/current solo act Paul McCartney featured a special appearance by none other than Kanye’s mom with the line, “Hello, my only one.” Upon hearing playback of the track, West insisted he didn’t remember singing that line during his casual improv session with McCartney. He did remember, however, that his name means “only one,” and took the whole experience to mean his mother was singing to him and the granddaughter she will never meet.
Says Kanye’s reps, “It dawned on everyone there: Something powerful and undeniable had occurred through the power of music and of letting go. A message had been passed down through generations.”
The self-professed prolific rapper and reality star Kim Kardashian had baby North West in June of 2013; West’s mother sadly passed away in 2007 during a surgical procedure, long before West and Kardashian got together romantically. Whatever your thoughts are on Kanye at the moment, I think we can all agree with Dave and Brit Morin that this is more than just your average song.
